Company: INVEGO
Role: Real estate developer
"Three keywords define this project: boldness, vision, results."
Work & Approach
The real estate project originated from Invego’s vision, which led to the acquisition of the Krulli complex. The objective was to create a future-oriented business and work environment where employees want to be. The design focused on a non-traditional office: preserving the historic building, integrating the park as a workspace, incorporating light wells to diversify spaces, and planning indoor climate and remote cooling. Seasonal sunlight was analyzed for optimal seating positions in the park, the placement of power outlets, and paving stones, ensuring the environment was tailored to users.
Breakthroughs
Coordinating a large-scale project with multiple architects, a design agency, and a construction team to ensure all parties contributed to the same vision was definitely a large undertaking, but an inspiring one. Removing a Soviet-era monument while preserving a complex historic building. At times, construction drawings were unavailable, because the rhythm was that fast, yet the process had to converge on schedule.
Takeaways
Courage, unified teamwork, and asking for help are essential. When all partners share the same vision and are willing to contribute, really contribute with all their hearts, ambitious projects that surpass conventional limits become possible. Maintaining constant focus and adapting to the unexpected is critical.
Facts
Three keywords defining the project: boldness, vision, results
Historic building preservation combined with integration of the park as a workspace
Light wells and diverse spatial solutions added value and a sense of openness
Employee feedback has been overwhelmingly positive; spaces and solutions support daily work effectively
Recognition from the City of Tallinn: “Renovated and expanded building enriching the historic environment”
